Default FA Crash

Not the best first post, but it'll have to do.

So, I have been playing GW with no major problems for quite a while now, but all of a sudden it has started crashing whenever I enter combat in Fort Aspenwood. I have only tried a few other areas, so I am not sure if this only goes for FA, but nothing out of the ordinary happens while I'm waiting in the outpost.

These crashes are not what I would call ordinary either; what happens is that both my monitors get filled with red, green and blue pixels and makes it look like a purple and black chessboard from a slight distance.

I'll try reinstalling the game and update the drivers for my graphics card if necessary, but I don't want to try joining FA again and risk ruining the game for the others, so I would appreciate it if anyone knows the cause of this and preferably a solution as well.

What graphics card do you have? It sounds like Intel Integrated graphics. If so, the answer is - get a real graphics card.

Second choice - gpu overheating, but that's usually not specific to just one area.

3rd choice - old graphics card that can't handle newer graphics - there may be a command line switch to help that.

Err.. I have a 1GB nVidia GeForce 280 and a liquid cooled 2.6GHz Intel quad core that has no problem running any other game.
Also, I haven't gotten a single GW crash outside the FA battlefield today.
I have reinstalled GW, but I'm hesitant to try FA again as I've already gotten dropped from it two or three times earlier today and I wouldn't cause more trouble than necessary.

Edit:
Though I'm almost willing to bet that if I try joining FA now it'll play just fine, rendering this thread rather unnecessary.

Edit 2:
It did work. Thread can be closed/deleted.

Lol - self-resolving problem threads, gotta love 'em.

Quaker's response would've been right the vast majority of times for this problem - way waaaaaay out this time

Exactly what I would've said myself though, given the lack of details in the OP.

Anyhoo, as requested...
